Beauty Products

The average beauty conscious woman can absorb up to 5lbs of chemicals per year from beauty products

This includes skin care, cosmetics, cleansers, shampoos, conditioners, bath and shower products to name but a few.

So along with your nice smelling shampoo you are very likely getting an unhealthy dose of petrochemicals, parabens and sodium lauryl sulphate. Add this to the chemicals that are sprayed onto and wrapped around our food (pesticides xeno-estrogens etc) it’s hardly surprising that there are an increasing number of skin complaints such as eczema, dermatitis and acne.

Why does this happen?

Our skin is one of the major organs of elimination and should be slightly acidic (pH 5.5) so apart from the fact that its trying to expel toxins from our body we often add to the burden by covering it with additional toxins in the form of beauty products.

What can we do to keep our skin in better condition?

Three things:

·        first aid the skin and help it eliminate toxins by supplying it with good food and pure water

·        Second assist the skin by being careful and applying natural ingredients wherever possibly

·         Third detox regularly and help with the elimination of toxic build up

How do I know what’s good or bad for my skin?

Just like when you shop for food – read the labels. Try for organic skincare wherever possible, surprisingly it can often be cheaper than some of the well known brands that contain harmful chemicals.

Free testing from Eszences

One of the benefits of the Asyra is that it can also indicate when a product is good or bad for you, so as well as utilising this feature to tell if a supplement or a food will do you good it can also indicate if a beauty product will benefit your body or not. Because I am interested in treating the whole person, I will test up to 10 products free when you book one of my other tests.
